When people talk about island life, they talk about living in the Bahamas. There is no doubt about it. Going to the Bahamas is probably one of the few dreams everybody has as well.
With its stunning beaches, amazing food, and overall just chill and laid back vibe, the Isle of June remains to be every family’s dream vacation. But most of the time, too much overthinking can ruin a trip in and of itself. With so many possible things to do, what should you start with?
Well, we’re here to help with that! We’ve compiled a small list of the three best things you could do in the Bahamas. So keep reading while you pack your bags because you’re gonna want to book that next flight to the Bahamas fast!
Check out Dean’s Blue Hole.
Now, the name may be a bit weird and out of place, but there is a good reason for that! A blue hole basically means a sinkhole that has been submerged with water but also has a submerged entrance. And there is no better blue hole to visit, than Dean’s!
As if that isn’t adventurous enough, Dean’s blue hole stands as the deepest ever known to man. It goes all the way down to about 663 feet, which can honestly feel a bit terrifying. But the waters are crystal clear, allowing you to see about 115 feet, which is already more than enough to have fun.
So if exploring the depths of the ocean is your forte, then going to the Bahamas to check out Dean’s Blue Hole should be on your bucket list next!
Swim with the pigs.
Probably one of the cutest and most fun things to do on this island is to swim with the pigs! And no that is absolutely not a metaphor.
Off the coast of the Outer Exuma Islands, is Big Major Cay, a small island that is ruled by pigs. Yes, only in the Bahamas will you see an island filled with pigs and swimming pigs at that! There, you can travel by boat during the midday sun, and depending on the mood of the pigs, will be able to play with them and eat with them as well!
It’s definitely a weird and quirky tourist attraction to have, but it can only be found in the Bahamas and it’s honestly one of the most wholesome things you will probably ever experience!
Ride in a personal underwater sub.
With so many things to do and sights to see in the Bahamas, you would have thought you’d seen it all. But really, you may have just only scratched the surface. Because in the Bahamas, you can actually ride in your own personal underwater sub!
The Bahamas are not only home to a ton of beautiful islands, but they also have some abundant collections of coral reefs with about 2,400 cays. This is why the underwater sub was invented in the first place. Because what better way to check these coral reefs out, than by riding in your own personal underwater sub!
When you’re looking to visit the beach, go scuba diving in a sinkhole, swim with some pigs, or maybe want to have your own personal underwater sub, then visiting the Bahamas are the way to go! And we’ve barely even scratched the surface of things you can do in these islands. For the rest, it’ll be best if you head there to check them out yourself!
